Of Sand and Stones is a video work exploring the ecological and symbolic weight of the semiconductor, a component often invisible, yet foundational to the architecture of the digital world. Composed primarily of silicon derived from sand and stones, semiconductors are the hidden material through which our most advanced technologies operate, revealing tension between the weightlessness of innovation and the heaviness of the earth it quietly consumes.
There, shapes flicker across granular surfaces, forming a visual assemblage of technological environments that remain elusive and incomplete. This unstable imagery reflects the fractured nature of global semiconductor production and the complexity of the systems it supports. From Coastal hubs in Taiwan to desert-based fabrication plants in Arizona, Of Sand and Stones poetically renders the precarious balance between progress and control that these circuits of production expose.

Bad Kingdom is a poetic visual story where three characters, Robin in Taipei, Swan in Tokyo, and a mysterious Crow, recall the early days of the multiplayer game Fly Like a Bird. Created by Gamevial and released in 2009, Fly Like a Bird was a simple yet beloved online game where players controlled birds flying across various landscapes, building nests, raising chicks, and interacting in a shared digital world. Its multiplayer mode fostered a vibrant community, blending playful mechanics with meaningful social interaction, a nostalgic emblem of early internet culture. Over time, the game evolved with new species, environments, and hazards. But as its popularity grew, players began exploiting vulnerabilities in its system.

Through its interactive Ren’Py visual story and comic book format, Bad Kingdom reflects on the memory of this lost virtual space. It weaves a meditation on early internet nostalgia, the fragility of digital communities, and the violence and beauty of online worlds.

Where is MatrixPlay99 is a film installation composed of a fictional movie mimicking YouTube’s aesthetics and self-help internet artifacts. In this short movie, the main character, Alice, retraces how listening to subliminal music on YouTube helped her cure her physical condition. As digital sites now generate and produce new forms of experience and self-created knowledge, this video work attempts to recreate the atmosphere and universe behind these holistic and spiritual practices, questioning how the absence of knowledge about female bodies enables all healing speculations.
